Trauma Healing Can Save You Money!?

Updated: Oct 11

🌿 Introduction: The Energy of Healing & Wholeness

We are more than our thoughts and emotions; we are energy. Every experience, every memory, and every unspoken truth leaves an imprint in the body. Over time, these energetic imprints shape how we feel, think, and relate to the world.

The chakra system is an ancient map of seven main energy centers and it offers a profound lens to understand where we hold tension, trauma, or disconnection. When a chakra is blocked or imbalanced, it manifests as emotional patterns, relational struggles, or even physical symptoms.

Through awareness and gentle healing, we can bring these energy centers back into alignment, reconnecting to our authentic power, purpose, and inner peace.

Each blog in this series will guide you through one chakra at a time, helping you understand what it governs, how imbalance shows up, and how to restore harmony through self-awareness, embodiment, and emotional healing.

🌺 Root Chakra: Safety, Stability, and Belonging

The Root Chakra grounds us into our physical and emotional foundation, and the focus of this blog post. It holds our sense of safety, home, and financial stability. When healed, we feel secure, supported, and connected to the earth beneath us. When wounded, we may struggle with fear, instability, or scarcity. This first post will help you rebuild a sense of rooted safety in your body, home life, and finances.

💚 Heart Chakra: Love, Compassion, and Forgiveness

The Heart Chakra bridges the physical and spiritual realms, the space where love lives. It’s where we learn to give and receive love freely, without conditions or fear. When blocked, we protect ourselves through walls of resentment, grief, or mistrust. This post will explore how to open your heart safely while honouring your boundaries.

💙 Throat Chakra: Truth, Expression, and Boundaries

The Throat Chakra is the voice of your authenticity. It governs communication, honesty, and self-expression. When blocked, we silence ourselves out of fear of judgment or rejection. This blog will guide you in speaking your truth, setting boundaries, and expressing who you are with clarity and grace.

💜 Third Eye Chakra: Intuition, Vision, and Inner Wisdom

The Third Eye Chakra is your inner compass and the centre of intuition, clarity, and perception. When imbalanced, you might doubt your instincts, overthink, or lose sight of your path. This post will help you trust your intuition and reconnect with the inner guidance that always knows the way.

🤍 Crown Chakra: Connection, Faith, and Higher Consciousness

The Crown Chakra connects you to the divine and to something greater than yourself. It governs spiritual connection, purpose, and surrender. When closed, we may feel disconnected, lost, or cynical. This final post will explore how to rebuild your spiritual connection and find meaning and peace in life’s bigger picture.

What the Root Chakra Represents

Located at the base of your spine, the Root Chakra (Muladhara in Sanskrit) is associated with the earth element; your foundation, home, family roots, and physical security. It’s the energy that tells your nervous system, “You are safe here. You belong. You have what you need.”

When life brings trauma, instability, financial strain, or emotional neglect, that safety gets disrupted. Your body may remain in a state of constant alertness, continually scanning for danger or uncertainty. This can show up as:

  • Anxiety about money or the future

  • Difficulty trusting others or letting go of control

  • Feeling ungrounded or disconnected from your body

  • Overworking or people-pleasing to create “safety” externally

  • Trouble resting or feeling at home, even in your own space

How Root Chakra Imbalances Show Up Around Money and Stability

Because this chakra governs survival, it often holds your earliest money beliefs. If you grew up hearing “money doesn’t grow on trees” or watching financial instability at home, your subconscious learned that safety = scarcity. Even as an adult, you might unconsciously hold onto the idea that:

  • You must work hard to deserve stability

  • It’s unsafe to depend on others

  • Money is hard to earn or easy to lose

This isn’t a moral failing; it’s your nervous system trying to keep you safe. But true healing means teaching your body and energy that safety and abundance can coexist.

The Root Chakra and the Energetic Blueprint of “Home”

If you’ve experienced chaos, emotional neglect, or instability growing up, your nervous system may have learned that love and safety don’t always coexist. As adults, this can lead to repeating patterns like:

  • Attracting emotionally unavailable partners

  • Feeling unsafe in intimacy or vulnerability

  • Avoiding conflict because it feels threatening

  • Over-functioning or people-pleasing to keep the peace

  • Feeling unsettled or “on edge” in your own home

These patterns aren’t who you are; they’re protective adaptations. The Root Chakra carries them until you consciously rewire them.

Healing the Root Chakra

Root healing isn’t just spiritual, it’s deeply somatic and practical. It’s about coming home to yourself and restoring trust in life again.

Here are some ways to begin:

*I created a workbook, designed for men and women (separately) to support the healing of the mind, body and spirit to create real lasting change.

1. Ground in Your Body

Start each morning by standing barefoot on the floor or outside on the earth. Breathe deeply into your belly and imagine red light swirling at the base of your spine. Say to yourself: “I am safe. I am supported. I belong.”

2. Create Consistency

Your root thrives on structure. Create simple, predictable routines, regular meals, consistent sleep, daily movement. This steadiness tells your body: “You’re safe now.”

3. Heal Your Relationship with Money

Notice where fear or guilt arises when you spend or receive. Reframe money as a form of energy that flows — not something to hoard or chase. Affirm: “It’s safe for me to receive. I am open to financial stability and overflow.”

4. Connect with Your Physical Home

Clean, declutter, or rearrange your living space. Light a candle, open the windows, and add grounding scents like cedar, vetiver, or patchouli. Your outer space mirrors your inner foundation.

5. Explore Your Roots

Journal on:

  • What did safety mean in my childhood?

  • What beliefs about money or home did I inherit?

  • What does stability feel like in my body now?

  1. Set Energetic and Emotional Boundaries

A balanced root chakra knows where you end and others begin. Boundaries are not walls; they’re frameworks that create emotional safety.

Practice saying no without guilt. Protect your energy from chaos, gossip, or environments that drain your peace. Affirm: “It’s safe for me to protect my peace. My boundaries create safety.”

The Root Chakra’s Gift

When your Root Chakra heals, you begin to feel anchored — not because everything is perfect, but because your sense of safety comes from within. You trust that no matter what happens externally, you can ground yourself and rebuild. From this place, abundance flows naturally. Because when your roots are strong… everything you build above the surface can finally thrive. 🌱
